1978 Holiday Rambler Statesman 1000 - Holly is 25' with double axles. In 2023 she went thru an extensive interior renovation and is ready to go camping NOW. Her roof has been cleaned, caulked and resealed and she has been stored inside since the renovations. 5 new Michelin tires were installed at Discount Tire in 2022 with less than 2000 miles on them now. No known leaks anywhere. She is a joy to pull and camp in. She weighs 5,500 pounds so you need a large enough tow vehicle to pull and stop Holly + cargo safely. A vehicle that can TOW 10,000 pounds would be a great fit.
I have been pulling her recently with a V-8 HEMI Dodge Durango rated to tow 7,100 pounds but that puts her right at my 80% towing limit and I would NOT be comfortable with this combo out west or thru the mountains. She does have electric brakes and the wheel bearings were repacked in 2023.
The floorplan works well for 2 people - twin bed configuration with a full bathroom across the back and kitchen/lounge up front. Wrap around windows in the lounge - similar to an Airstream layout. If you are solo and/or travel with pets, you may want to share the 2nd twin bed with your fur-kids but there is plenty of room in the lounge for crates :-
One 13,500 AC provides MORE than enough cooling - even in the HOT Texas summer - it was replaced in 2023 and she only needs 30 amp shore power :- I put window tint on all the windows, and removed the awning. She does have a refurbished rock guard for the front window.
All of the renos are too long to list here so I have added a 4-page list to this advert for more details. I can also email you the .pdf version which would not upload here.
As any mature lady, Holly does have some wrinkles that I had planned to address i phase 2 of the reno but now my plans have changed so new owner will have to decide if/when they want to tackle that. I want you to be aware of them so will mention them here and when we talk.
The BIGGEST priority for me is the top rear panel needs painting. The previous owner had worked the bathroom and installed a porcelain commode, but when he repainted the top exterior panel he didn't prep the surface properly. So all of that pant has peeled off to the aluminum. A picture is on the 4-page flyer attached.
The rest of the exterior has the original paint which is fading in areas. Also replace the original screw cover vinyl trim everywhere. I have in my hands the Holiday Rambler emblems which were laser printed and need to be painted as well. MY color scheme was going to be white with black trim, but you could paint them any color you desire. I will include them with the sale.
When I had the cabinets painted a very light greyish white I changed the bronze hardware to black. I have a few extra knobs or handles.
My pride and joy of the reno are 2 things: 1-the stainless steel single bowl sink and black faucet. NOW I can wash even the refrigerator shelves in it - no more split bar sink to wash dishes! AND 2-the marine grade sheet vinyl that replaced the sheet vinyl my ex and I replaced the original green shag carpet from HR originally. The new flooring I first saw in Airstreams a few years back. It's easy to sweep and mop clean.
The bathroom has been left mostly original - other than the porcelain commode the previous owner installed. The Walls and cabinet are not painted, the harvest gold shower is original, etc. It's my way of paying homage to her origins :- Even the original 3-way frig works great - keeping ice cream sammiches frozen - AFTER it has reached operating temperature.
I have the original 3-ring binder full of documents, sales literature, etc. - although be aware there have been upgrades and replacements of some OEM components.
For a SOTF or Girl Camper buyer, I am willing to give a nice discount. Be sure to tell me you are a member so we can come to an agreement on price for YOU.
Finally, I have been teaching RV Driving Lessons for almost 10 years and would be glad to include them if you like. If not, you will be impressed at how well Holly tows.
I am SOTF #17226 and would be glad to speak with you for more details or show her to you when I am in the area. My prayer is for a SOTF to appreciate her great bones, recent reno and take her to the next level to go have more fun than anyone!
